Express your interest:

If you do not see a suitable role under our current volunteering opportunities, but are interested in volunteering with us, please follow the link below to express your interest. If you let us know what sort of voluntary role you are interested in, we will be in touch with updates when opportunities become available.

What do volunteers do?

Our volunteers support policing in a variety of different ways. Their passion and commitment are invaluable in helping us to strengthen our communities, solve problems and improve the lives of others.

At Devon and Cornwall Police, we take care of our volunteers by providing them with the necessary training, support and equipment they need to succeed. In return for your commitment, you will receive a range of benefits and receive the opportunity to gain an insight into policing and to really make a difference.

Some of the roles we currently have across our force areas include Volunteer Drivers and Vehicle Checkers, Administration Support Volunteers and Cadet Leaders.

Although you will not be paid a salary, your volunteering role should not leave you out of pocket. You will be able to claim expenses for travelling to and from your place of duty.

If you opt to join us as a Police Support Volunteer, you will be vetted prior to joining and will be asked to sign forms agreeing to the principles of The Data Protection Act and The Official Secrets Act.
