Location | Exeter (Sowton) |
Unit / Department | Citizens In Policing |
Hours | Regular commitment, minimum 2 days per month |
Description |
Our volunteer driver scheme was introduced to reduce the demand on police vehicles across the force. Your main tasks will be the transportation of vehicles between stations and workshops. You will visit different locations within Devon and Cornwall. Our volunteer driver service operates between the hours of 8am-4pm Monday to Friday. You will have flexibility around how often you wish to volunteer to fit in with your other commitments. However, we would hope that volunteer drivers would commit to a minimum of 2 days a month. If you like driving, meeting new people, want to give back to your community and be part of something bigger and join our police family, apply to become a volunteer driver. We will provide you with volunteer uniform and travelling expenses will be reimbursed. Mileage is paid at 45p per mile. Please Note: This role requires a full manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months. A driving licence check will be carried out prior to being interviewed for the position. A declaration and licence check form will be emailed to you if you are successful through the shortlisting stage, and prior to an interview being offered. If this check shows an invalid licence, you will be withdrawn from the recruitment process. We would not consider applications where the applicant lives more than 25 miles from the base location for this role. |
