Vehicle Check Volunteer- Exeter Station/ Exeter City Centre

Location Exeter station or Exeter city centre, Civic Centre
Unit / Department Citizens in Policing
Hours Flexible, hours to suit. Minimum 4 hours per week

Description

Devon and Cornwall Police are looking for support from members of our community who are interested in supporting our policing teams.

An interesting and valued volunteering opportunity has opened up for Vehicle Check Volunteers to assist with the weekly checks of our fleet of vehicles. It is vitally important to keep our vehicles clean and fully equipped, to ensure that our officers and staff are always kept mobile and safe and that any defective or unsafe equipment is identified, repaired or replaced.

As a Vehicle Check Volunteer, your role will help maintain the fleet of vehicles that are used by our police personnel.

This role would suit someone who has the availability and flexibility to commit to supporting the role on a weekly basis, who has an eye for detail, and has a basic understanding of using computers. Full support and training will be provided for the role.

Mileage expenses will be paid at 45p per mile.

Waterproof clothing and boots are provided.

Please note:  This role requires a full clean manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months. A driving licence check will be carried out prior to being interviewed for the position.  A declaration and licence check form will be emailed to you if you are successful through the shortlisting stage, and prior to an interview being offered. If the check shows an invalid licence, you will be withdrawn from the recruitment process.

We would not consider applications where the applicant lives more than 25 miles from the base location for this role.
